Hello potential future Oatly employee. It's us, the original oatmilk company that started in Sweden 30 or so years ago. We are thrilled to be expanding our presence in Canada and invite you to join the plant-based revolution as a Barista Market Developer for Vancouver.

As a Barista Market Developer (BMD), you will be instrumental in establishing Oatly Barista Edition as the leading dairy-free alternative in Vancouver coffee channel.
Your primary responsibilities include leveraging your in-depth knowledge of coffee shops in the area to cultivate strong relationships, drive brand awareness, and promote trial experiences for Oatly.
Utilizing your network of influential individuals, you'll advocate for Oatly, embodying our brand values with enthusiasm and comprehensive product knowledge.
The role reports to the Barista Team Lead for North America, is based in Vancouver and requires fluent English communication skills.
What we need you to bring to the table:Solid experience within the specialty coffee industry with demonstrable commercial experienceDeep understanding of Vancouver's coffee landscape, attuned to emerging trends and market dynamicsThe personality to succeed in this role: collaborative, energetic, flexible, humble, dedicated, supportive, reliable, positive, and trustworthyAlignment with Oatly's mission of sustainability, nutritional health, and trust.The ability to thrive in an unconventional work structure, demonstrating a proactive approach and comfort with ambiguityThe physical capability to cover distances on foot while carrying Oatly productsWhat we need you to do:Execute the development strategy for Oatly Barista Edition within the city scene, injecting your personal insights and creativityCultivate robust relationships within Vancouver's diverse coffee community, encompassing baristas, café owners, and other relevant stakeholders, winning them through your unique personality, outstanding knowledge, and strong credibilityChampion Oatly's prominence by actively cultivating strategic partnerships with influential accountsPromote awareness of sustainability's impact on the coffee industryCurate and execute engaging coffee events to foster community bonding while spotlighting sustainabilityAssist with the execution of larger activations across Vancouver and be an inspiring ambassador for the brand (by being yourself)Who we need you to be:You are already engaged with our brand and you love our productsYou are immersed within the specialty coffee industry, particularly entrenched within Vancouver's dynamic coffee sceneYou feel connected to our mission of encouraging health, sustainability, and transparencyYou are a self-starter who doesn't need direct supervision to motivate you for success; we believe strongly in building a culture of individual accountability and ownershipYou are ready to make your mark in a growing brand leveraging your experience to deliver amazing results and build an outstanding companyYou have an entrepreneurial spirit in that you're comfortable with ambiguity and are energized by the process of building something lasting from the ground upYou are a passionate advocate of the sustainability agenda who wants to create societal shifts and drive the plant-based revolutionWe value diversity and inclusion and welcome people from all backgrounds who see sustainability and health as important values.

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable. Our good faith estimate for base salary is $80,000 CAD.
