We're seeking professionals who are ready to contribute to our mission and shape the future of mRNA medicines in Spain.
As the Customer Engagement Lead for Spain, you will spearhead our customer engagement strategy at both strategic and operational levels, driving awareness and adoption of Moderna's respiratory vaccine portfolio and future products across the Spanish healthcare landscape. Your focus will be on account insights, contracting, tendering, pricing negotiations, and building partnerships with healthcare providers, regional government bodies, and external stakeholders. You will play a crucial role in shaping Moderna's presence in Spain, establishing meaningful, value-driven partnerships that enhance health outcomes and deliver long-term business growth.
Here's What You'll Do:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Client Acquisition & Business Development : Proactively identify and secure new clients across Spain, strategically targeting healthcare providers, public institutions, and private organizations to drive vaccine adoption and ensure business retention.
Client Engagement & Relationship Building : Lead engagement initiatives, building strong relationships with healthcare entities, including buying groups, wholesalers, pharmacies, public hospitals, private clinics, and corporate healthcare providers.
Impact & Value Creation : Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet or exceed commercial objectives, aligning Moderna's vaccine offerings with healthcare needs and improving patient outcomes.
Support Commercialization : Drive the commercialization of Moderna's respiratory vaccine portfolio (COVID-19, RSV, influenza) by forming strategic partnerships and monitoring market trends to inform engagement strategies.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Partner with teams across Medical Affairs, Public Affairs, Marketing, Legal, and Regulatory to implement customer strategies that align with corporate objectives and enhance customer experiences.
Data & Digital Tools : Leverage data analytics to analyze market trends, customer behaviors, and sales performance, prioritizing high-value accounts to drive growth.
Collaboration with Health Authorities : Work closely with Spanish health authorities to advocate for vaccine access, ensuring Moderna's vaccines are included in immunization programs and addressing barriers in procurement, reimbursement, and distribution.
Logistics & Continuous Improvement : Apply expertise in logistics and continuous improvement to ensure seamless distribution and access to Moderna's vaccines.
Client Visits & Engagement : Conduct a high volume of client visits across Spain, with frequent weekly travel to maintain and deepen relationships with key stakeholders.
Client Retention & Expansion : Retain and expand relationships with existing clients while prospecting new healthcare providers to drive growth and market reach.

Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications):
7+ years of experience in customer engagement, key account management, or commercial roles within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries, with a proven ability to manage key accounts.
Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
Experience in vaccines or respiratory diseases, with a solid understanding of the commercialization process in Spain.
Strong understanding of the Spanish healthcare system, including key regulatory bodies such as the Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios (AEMPS) and regional health authorities.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans that meet or exceed commercial objectives.
Fluent in Spanish, with proficient English communication skills.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications):
Master's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Experience collaborating with regional health authorities on vaccination programs and working with public hospitals, wholesalers, and private healthcare providers to increase market penetration for new vaccines.
Expertise in last-mile logistics, wholesale management, and continuous improvement processes.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a highly competitive and regulated market.
Familiarity with Moderna's data-driven and digital-first culture, with an emphasis on learning and adaptability.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, particularly during vaccine launches or similar product commercialization efforts.
Familiarity with data analytics tools to drive account prioritization and optimize customer engagement strategies.
