GAR provides engagement services, resources and benefits to the IE alumni network that consists of more than 80,000 alumni worldwide and liaises across the IE stakeholder map to ensure the community stays connected to each other and IE throughout their lifetime. The team consists of 14 staff members based in Madrid and shared resources in Europe, Middle East, U.S. and APAC supporting alumni engagement and career development.
The Associate Director, Content Curation is responsible for identifying and creating high-quality content (from concept to delivery) for strategic Alumni Engagement events and initiatives, whereby the content is principally curated carefully in collaboration with IE alumni and/or IE faculty members. Each event / engagement initiative has its strategic goals, which in turn, require creative content design that can be applied to these goals while understanding the target audience's needs.
The Content Curation Associate Director ensures that the curated content aligns with the organization's objectives and collaborates extensively amongst various stakeholders to identify new content concepts and designs, including identification of alumni speakers and/or IE faculty members, collaborating closely across the academic teams of the six Schools (Area Directors, Program Managers, Deans, Vice Deans). This role requires a hands-on approach and a deep curiosity to take the initiative to research, explore, and stay updated with industry trends and developments, as well as academic innovation. Our ideal candidate will play a critical role in enhancing IE Global Alumni Relations programs and events for our alumni community, thereby contributing to the institution's overall reputation and brand.

Responsibilities:
Your role as an Associate Director, Content Curation will involve:
1. Alumni Engagement Events: Content Strategy & Curation
- Proactive planning of content strategy for key alumni engagement events (i.e. Global Alumni Weekend, IE Alumni Leaders Forum, Flash Mentoring events…), coordinating closely with the GAR department's engagement teams and IE stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Evaluate, source and organize content concepts analysing available and potential alumni speakers, existing "hot topics" from the IE Schools, industry trends, and benchmarking other alumni engagement events. Ensure content is appropriate for the event format (timing, virtual vs. face-to-face, etc) and for the target audience (young professionals, seasoned executives, etc)
- Identify, nurture and feature strategic alumni whose stories and knowledge contributions can serve as inspirational and engaging content.
1. Trends & Topics Monitoring & Schools
- Stay up to date on industry trends, sourcing newspapers, specialized magazines, consulting reports, academic papers, benchmarking alumni engagement conferences at other institutions…
- Build an overall knowledge of the "must topics" at IE that can be applicable for diverse audience profiles, fostering a close relationship with the academic departments from the 6 IE Schools.
- Identify readily available digital content from IE Schools that highlight achievements, research breakthroughs, whereby the GAR team can cross-promote these institutional successes to the broad alumni community on their social media channels.
- Serve as key liaison from the GAR team for IE Schools as it relates to content, speakers and communication needs, collaborating with the rest of the GAR team as needed.
1. IE Alumni EPIC Awards
- End-to-end management of the annual EPIC Awards campaign, ensuring high-quality visibility of this recognition within the IE Alumni community and across the IE stakeholder map.
- Revamp the EPIC Awards, analyzing the current efforts and enhancing the visibility and quality of the content (nomination, community involvement, digital campaign, face-to-face recognition and awards gala, IE stakeholder involvement, website…)
- Direct and personalized communication with alumni nominees and winners of the EPIC awards, ensuring their satisfaction and excitement along the process.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A master's degree
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
- Prior experience in content curation, content strategy, preferably related to academia and/or events.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Organizational, time management and execution skills. Must be able to set expectations effectively, follow up with individuals and successfully execute tasks and projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage a diverse community with demanding professional expectations.
- Efficient and effective resource management, accustomed to budget management.
- Enjoys customer relations and with prior customer service or direct customer-facing communications and experience
- Enthusiasm, a love of learning, team spirit and strong willingness to have an impact.
