Position Summary The Assistant Controller - Operations is an integral position in the EMEA Finance Team, providing operational finance support to our European business. This role will help drive strategic decision making within the business based upon the measurement of financial data. This position is tasked with assisting the Operations Controller in building out and providing ongoing financial metrics so that business strategies can be refined and improved.
This role works closely with manufacturing operations, logistics, purchasing and finance to ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable shifting priorities and lending finance expertise within diverse work assignments as needed.
Core Duties and Responsibilities Support the monthly / quarterly financial and operational reporting activities of the CompanySupport Operations Controller with product costing, inventory management, margin reviews and other operational initiativesPrepare and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis requested by Executive management and department leaders as needed to support the businessAssist in developing and implementing new procedures and systems to enhance department workflowsDevelop a strong understanding of the Company's operations, products and cost driversDevelop broad expertise in the Company's financial reporting systems to help drive improved accuracy & timeliness of operational reportingSupport the Company's SOX program, including documentation, testing and making ongoing recommendations for internal control process changesDevelop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of department and business objectives through collaboration and communicationRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Experience Bachelors degree in Accounting / Finance, CPA preferredFive (5) or more years of related work experience including experience within manufacturing operationsFinancial systems ERP experienceCost Accounting experienceDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailSuperior communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly ExcelAbility to manage complex projects and multi-task effectivelyExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedMust possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work qualityPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
