Job Description*This is an on-site position* This position supports the management of the Talent & Culture department daily operations and pertains to all areas which support the Fairmont philosophy of creating an environment where each and every colleague is recognized and feels valued for their contributions.
This role will support leaders and colleagues in all elements of Employer Branding, Talent Selection, Induction & Onboarding, Performance Management & Feedback, Colleague Engagement, Labor Relations, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Policies & Procedures, Compensation & Benefits, Health & Wellness, and Corporate Social Responsibility with the objective of providing business support to all departments through collaboration and coaching.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in managing the workflow and the day-to-day operations of the Talent & Culture DepartmentMain point of contact to assist all colleagues and leaders with all inquiriesConsistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceBe a role model within the hotel and exhibit and practice professional leadership skills, which are fully aligned with our culture, values and pillarsPromote positive Colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust, mutual respect and funOrganize, attend and participate in management of employee engagement initiativesManage and oversee the flow of applicants within the recruitment processEngage in Talent & Culture social media initiatives to promote the property as the best place to workChampion the recognition committeeFollow and Implement all Company established onboarding procedures which ensure new colleagues feel welcome and all team members are prepared for colleague arrivalCoordinate and conduct Company and brand specific orientation programs and training as neededManage the talent management platform to ensure successful cycle is observed by all supervisors, managers, and directors with regards to goals and objectivesProvide training and support to all colleagues and leadersManage the online learning platform for all leaders and colleaguesAssist in the implementation of Talent & Culture strategiesAnswer queries and communicate Talent & Culture policies and procedures to all leaders and colleaguesSupport the motivation of talent through recognition, rewards program, and regular activities through the hotelImplement programs and plan events to recognize key events in the lives of our colleagues including birthdays, years of service, births, etc.Assist in the management of Health Benefits and Wellness programsManage the process of leaves of absence, make appropriate recommendations and decisions on the leaves including extensions, follow up with employees, and keep accurate tracking systemEnsure the HRIS system is accurate and changes such as benefits, compensation, terminations, and new hires are entered in a timely fashionManage the pre-employment background check process and compliance. Make recommendations and decisions based on results obtained.Advance positive employee relations by building effective working relationships with all colleaguesProvide assistance and support with employee relations issuesProvide support in Colleague coaching, counseling, and discipline when requiredProcess and maintain confidential information and properly document information for payroll purposesProvide assistance relating to employee relations such as direct line committee organization, employee communication, bulletin boards, employee of the month program, employee picnics, parties and general meetingsFollow and enforce policies and proceduresAssist the team in performing administrative duties within the departmentPerform other duties as assigned QualificationsReading, writing, and oral proficiency in both English & Spanish required1 year of Human Resources leadership or supervisory experiencePrior Hospitality experience is desirablePrevious experience in unionized environment an assetStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local law requiredStrong knowledge in handling requests for leave of absence and worker's compensationPrevious experience in Learning & Development an assetComputer literate in Microsoft Office applicationsUniversity/College degree in a related discipline preferredHR certification an assetStrong organizational and leadership skillsHighly responsible & reliable with strong sense of urgencyResourceful and ability to work cohesively as part of a team Additional InformationWhat is in it for you:
