The Science Tooling And Research (STAR) Team at Amazon Robotics is seeking a passionate Applied Scientist, with a strong track record of industrial research, innovation leadership, and technology transfer, with a focus on ML Applications.

This role will be participating in creating the ML and AI roadmap, leading science initiatives, and shipping ML products.
Key job responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Independently innovating, creating, and iterating modeling solutions for given business problems.
Especially, using techniques such as Spatial–temporal ML methods, Optimization, Causal Inference, etc.Collaborating with other Science, Tech, Ops, and Business leaders to ship and iterate model products.Promoting best practices and mentoring junior team members on problem solving and communication.Leading state-of-the-art research work and pursuing internal/external scientific publications. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience2+ years of building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application experienceExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languageExperience applying theoretical models in an applied environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of hands-on predictive modeling and large data analysis experienceKnowledge of architectural concepts and algorithms, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team membersExperience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journalsPhD in operations research, applied mathematics, theoretical computer science, or equivalent Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
