Job DescriptionAs a member of the Canadian Equities team, and under the supervision of the two Vice-Presidents and Co-Heads, Canadian Equities, you will play an important role in monitoring and evaluating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors as part of the investment process for Canadian Equities, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of our ESG integration process. You may be required to participate in the promotion of ESG practices within our firm and externally. You will also collaborate with the Sustainable Investing team.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou further develop tools for ESG evaluation of industries and companies that complement fundamental analysis.You analyze and evaluate the ESG practices of industries and companies across all sectors.You help improve the incorporation of ESG data into the investment analysis process.You conduct research and analysis to integrate ESG criteria into the investment process.You advise Portfolio Managers on market developments and trends related to ESG and sustainable investment themes and issues.You attend various events (conferences, round tables, etc.) related to sustainable investing and contribute to Addenda's influence within the industry.You contribute to an investment process and stock selection that is driven by fundamental research and analysis.Profile SoughtExperience and KnowledgeYou have an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or business administration.You have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the investment industry in a similar or related position.You possess knowledge of a broad array of ESG practices such as integration, screening, and engagement.You have an understanding of portfolio management processes and issues.You have an understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks such as the SASB standards and the TCFD framework.You are familiar with ESG data sources such as Bloomberg, MSCI ESG, and Sustainalytics.An interest in pursuing the CFA designation is considered an asset.A postgraduate education or a certificate in sustainability is considered an asset.Skills and AbilitiesYou have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.You have a high level of proficiency with Excel.You have a keen sense of initiative and resourcefulness.You relish the challenge of taking a project from inception to conclusion.You are self-motivated and can manage workload with minimal direct supervision but also enjoy working in a collaborative environment.You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
