Learn more about us - www.garagedoorseattle.com What is the purpose of this Job? The Accounting Specialist is a staff accountant position. This person will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment processing for Precision's accounts receivable function. The Accounting Specialist will also be responsible for processing and reconciling customer payments, communicating with customers regarding payment status, and corresponding with other Precision teams and managers. The Accounting Specialist reports to the Controller and will work in tandem with other accounting team members on processes.
Job Responsibilities - Reconcile customer payments, matching payments to bank deposits.Respond to inquiries from field staff and customers. Monitor and respond to incoming questions.Weekly bank depositing is needed for cash collection and daily remote check scanner processing.Complete applications for warranty payments, customer refunds, and invoice adjustments.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to payment processing.Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.Assist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivable i.e., bad debt write-offs, sending customers to collection agency, produce various collection reports, etc.Be trained in and utilize various accounting programs and software.Multitask well in a fast-paced environment.Communicate with other Precision teams and follow up diligently on outstanding items.Be ready for opportunities to work on research projects and new reports as requested.Requirements - Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.Experience with Excel functions is a plus.Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.Must be able to coordinate priorities efficiently.Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive team attitude.Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.Excellent teamwork and enthusiasm for team building.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Ability to read/write English at a proficient level.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.Benefits - Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits401k PlanPaid Time OffReferral programEmployee discountLife InsuranceLong Term DisabilityPaid HolidaysEmployee Assistance Program** Our company's pay period is Sunday through Saturday, with WEEKLY payroll!
