SummaryCelestica, the Global Manufacturer of Electronic Components, is seeking a Buyer for Indirect Materials to support the implementation of a brilliant, world-class manufacturing environment for current and future projects spanning advanced concept and production development. This is an interim position to cover paternity leave. During the interim, you will become part of a world-class team recognized as an Aerospace & Defense and HealthTech Center of Excellence for Celestica's Europe region that also provides New Product Introduction (NPI) and Engineering Services for multiple global customers, providing full support throughout the entire life-cycle of their products. Detailed DescriptionIncumbents are fully qualified to execute job/role accountabilities working independently on most aspects of the job. Work is performed within established professional standards and practices. Tasks are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to complete assignments independently and to determine the best methods to follow to complete assignments. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may have a negative impact on the divisions/department's operations, schedules, and/or performance goals. Works under general supervision. Situations not covered by standard processes, procedures, and methods are referred to the manager or expert resource. May demonstrate work methods to new employees. Builds internal and external relationships, with emphasis on those that facilitate the achievement of job accountabilities, such as relationships with suppliers and internal customers. Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Maintains local and/or regional responsibility for a specific indirect commodity or group of indirect commodities for price/value determination, sourcing, negotiations, terms & conditions, and supplier relationship development, working independently.Quotes and negotiates all indirect materials and services under the assigned commodities according to Indirect Procurement process/procedures.Identifies opportunities in the assigned commodities for increased value proposition.Analyzes the market and recommends alternative suppliers where applicable.Negotiates services & purchase agreements terms and conditions for the proper conduct of business.Evaluates suppliers' performance and recommends solutions for cost savings/avoidance, on-time deliveries, and overall quality.Supports internal customers to resolve quality, serviceability, and performance-related issues for products or bid activities.Issues purchase orders in accordance with company procedures.Manages purchase orders, following compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in these orders.Generates reports related to the position.Receives assignments in the form of tasks and goals and follows established guidelines, procedures, and policies to meet individual and department objectives.Works within established professional standards and practices.Possesses working knowledge of the marketplace conditions for the area of specialization including industry pricing, technology, and supply/demand trends.Exhibits good negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.Has a good command of written and spoken English.Possesses very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.SAP application (MM) knowledge is a plus.Is an organized and result-oriented person with the ability to evaluate, prioritize, and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.Physical DemandsTypical ExperienceMinimum 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.Typical EducationUniversity graduate/Bachelor's degree in a related field.NotesThis job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities of the position.
