Overview: IE University (IEU) is a private university with campuses located in Segovia and Madrid (Spain). IEU programs are taught in English and Spanish and fully comply with the terms of the Bologna Accords for the European Higher Education Area. The Associate Director (AD) is the main point of contact for the students and faculty. His/her primary responsibility is to guarantee the efficient flow of the daily operations of the bachelors' degrees, and to proactively work on the qualitative improvement of these operational processes and the student satisfaction, being both our two primary KPIs. The Associate Director will report to the Senior Associate Director, will manage a team of Program Coordinators and Program Assistants, and will interact with faculty, students, different IE departments and external agencies whose intervention is required to run the program. The position will primarily be based in our Madrid Campus, though it will be required to travel to the Segovia Campus once or twice a week, on a same-day-return to Madrid basis.
Responsibilities: Interaction with students:Meet with students to solve issues, offer advice, and/or give them emphatical support, on a regular basis and/or as deemed necessary when any relevant issue is forwarded to the Program Managers.Co-manage the interactions with class representatives, along with the Program Managers.Support students facing academic difficulties or any other challenge within their program experience.Manage the communication channels with the students.Identify ways to improve the student experience.Interaction with professors and other departments:Oversee and coordinate the team's tasks having to do with liaising with the faculty members, communicate any issues that any given student or group may have, request feedback, ensure timely submission of grades, syllabi, etc., as well as to manage any issue or task that has been escalated by the program managers.Collaborate with other IE Departments - such as the Admissions, Marketing, Planning, or Documentation departments, Student Services, Campus Life, Registrar's Office, Maintenance and General Services, etc. - to ensure the best student experience possible.Interaction within the School of Science and Technology:Assist the Academic and Executive Director in the coordination and implementation of new curricular and extracurricular activities and innovations processes.Supervise and coordinate the Program Assistants and Coordinators work with professionalism, and serve as a supportive member of the team, coaching and training them in all new processes whenever deemed necessary.Take responsibility on particular or special program projects, that may include to work on specific components of the program's design, revamp projects, etc.Update and improve any academic guides, tools and other materials used for the interaction with both students and faculty.Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years' working experience, preferably in the educational field.Master's degree, preferably from a top University.Bilingual, or advanced written and oral proficiency, in both English and Spanish, preferably with substantial professional experience in both languages.Strong project management capabilities, solid customer management skills, ability to work under pressure, and a high level of accountability.Experience in global management education within higher learning Technology schools will be a plus.To have a positive and proactive attitude towards work and a student-oriented perspective to it.
