We are an established luxury travel agency with a young and very entrepreneurial spirit. The agency was founded in 2004 under the spirit of never becoming a travel agency. Our value is based on putting the client in the middle of everything, providing different layers of value in a fully customized travel experience. We have two offices, one in Madrid and another one in Barcelona but we work as one team with constant and regular communication, meetings and workshops throughout the year.
Product training is one of our fundamental pillars. As a Travel Designer, you will travel to the most relevant trade shows around the world, and will travel on specific familiarization trips. You will be present in all hotel and DMC presentations in the office and will have full access to our product network around the world. We are fully focused on client service, and whenever possible, we meet our clients in their homes after they finish their working hours. You can expect during the high season periods some late afternoon meetings but you can also expect a fairly flexible work schedule.
General PurposeWe are seeking two individuals to manage the current client portfolio, one based in Madrid and another one in Barcelona, who are strongly service oriented, can establish strong social relations, design innovative and fully tailored itineraries and have a true love and passion for travel.
Main Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesDirect responsibility on sales objectives, sales conversion rates and repeat rates.Direct responsibility on financial variables: gross sales and gross margins.Establishing long lasting relationships with clients.Dealing with customer enquiries and aiming to meet and exceed their expectations.Sourcing products and destinations to meet client demands.Creating and designing personalized travel documents and booklets.Overseeing the smooth, efficient running of each travel program from beginning to the end.Dealing and solving client complaints before, during and after their travels.Perform small administrative tasks.Support and help other team members when necessary.Take part in familiarization visits to new destinations to gather information on issues and amenities of interest to clients.Liaising with travel partners, including DMC's, airlines and hotels, to manage bookings and schedules.Maximize the use of available marketing and sales tools at all times.Establish the XXXXXXXXXX Travel brand values and positioning throughout all client and supplier contact points and opportunities.Education and ExperienceCommercial, tourism, general business degree or equivalent professional qualification.Experience in travel, tourism, events or communication.Advanced language skills - with a minimum of Spanish and English to a high level.Experience in direct customer relationships.Relevant product and travel industry knowledge.Advanced knowledge of airline reservations systems (Amadeus) is not mandatory but appreciated.Well-travelled to a minimum of 10 countries in 3 continents, 6 of them outside of Europe.Key CompetenciesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Advanced social skills in the luxury and affluent segment of the population.Strong organization and planning skills.Sales oriented.Client service driven.Problem analysis and problem-solving skills.Persuasiveness.Adaptability.Creativity and judgment.Team player.Decision-making.Technology wise.Resilience to cope with long hours and pressure at peak times.A genuine interest in travel.Working hours and compensationOur working philosophy relies on delivering results and assuming responsibilities and not so much on an hourly schedule. Typical hours are 09:00 to 18:30hrs with 1:30hrs lunch break with flexibility to work remotely when needed. Birthdays are seen as an extra holiday and you will get that day off to celebrate your day, if it falls on a working day. We believe that sales and profits need to be shared within the team, and individual effort must be recognized.
Our compensation scheme is split between a fixed salary, and a percentage of the monthly sales that goes directly into the travel designer's paycheck at the end of each month. The base salary range you can expect lies between €24,000 and €35,000 (gross annual) in 12 equal monthly pays plus a percentage tied to the monthly individual sales volume which can roughly be an extra +15% of the gross yearly salary.
