SELECTION CRITERIA
Applications will be scored up to 100 points in accordance with the following criteria:
A.
Academic track (maximum 65 points). A maximum of 55 points will be given based on the grade point average (GPA) in the academic track record of the required Bachelor's degree.
Applications with degrees in mathematics as well as in civil, mechanical, or biomedical engineering will be valued preferentially.
For applicants with degrees in statistics, physics, and other engineering areas, a weighting factor of 70% will be applied to the GPA.
For applications with other degrees, the previous weighting factor will be 10%.The remaining 10 points will be awarded based on the grades obtained by the candidate in courses related to the project tasks as follows: a maximum of 0.25 points for each 1 ECTS for courses related to infinitesimal calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, numerical methods, and scientific programming; and a maximum of 0.50 points for each 1 ECTS for courses related to applications of mathematics, physics, and engineering in biology and medicine.
The same weighting scheme as a function of the type of Bachelor's degree used for the GPA will be applied. B.
Other academic merits (maximum 5 points).
Academic and scientific awards, academic scholarships and research fellowships, as well as contracts to develop research tasks related to the scope of the project obtained in competitive calls will be considered.
A maximum of 1 point will be given for each award, scholarship, or fellowship, and up to 0.2 points per month worked under a research contract.
C.
English level (maximum 5 points).
A maximum of 5 points will be awarded for the provable knowledge of an intermediate or upper level of English language in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference (A2: 1 point, B1: 2 points; B2: 3 points; C1: 4 points; C2: 5 points).
D.
Personal interview (maximum 25 points).
Candidates who achieve a score above 50 points in sections A-C will be invited to a personal interview, where they will demonstrate their capacity and knowledge for the tasks to be developed.
SELECTION
A minimum score of 65 points will be necessary to benefit from this position.
The process will create a waiting list (reserves) with the applications that satisfy this condition.
If no candidate obtains a score over 65 points, the position may be declared unfilled.
In the case that two or more candidates obtain the same total score, the one with the higher score in the interview will be selected.
