It operates through the following segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate.The Upstream segment includes crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids exploration, field development, and production.The Downstream segment focuses on refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum, and petrochemical products, and related services to international and domestic customers.The Corporate segment offers supporting services including human resources, finance, and information technology.The company was founded on May 29, 1933, and is headquartered in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in NGL fractionation processes, including NGL fractionation, distillation, gas sweetening, refrigeration, gas recovery, dehydration, Merox, utilities, cryogenic loading, and storage facilities.This position is based in our Yanbu NGL Fractionation Department under Western Region Manufacturing, where you will support and oversee the performance of facility assets.Your primary role will be to provide exceptional process engineering support, ensuring the operation of facilities in a safe, reliable, and economical manner.You will be expected to achieve target goals while aligning with the company's strategic imperatives.Key Responsibilities:Perform in-depth plant monitoring and optimize the performance of assigned units by overseeing operations and economic losses.Issue detailed reports to recommend changes supported by simulation models to optimize unit operations.Lead unit operations troubleshooting and investigate off-spec products and plant trips/upsets.
Manage the required deliverables and support operations during turnarounds and unplanned shutdowns/startups by understanding the unit operating conditions and transient effects to recommend operational improvements.Perform specific tasks such as catalyst/desiccant forecasts/evaluations, test runs, debottlenecking studies, due diligence assessments, enhancement studies, and HAZOP studies.Take on the lead role in process safety management, overseeing HAZOP, PSR, SIL, PSSR, RA, and alarm rationalization.
Lead HAZOP/Process Safety Reviews of plant operations and new modifications.Manage long and short-term projects by proposing major projects to improve safety, reliability, and profitability.
Prepare design requests, budget justifications, and detailed implementation plans for economically justifiable projects.Develop detailed engineering design packages for in-house process-oriented projects and follow up on implementation.Ensure environmental and safety awareness by working closely with the facility Safety and Environment management to improve safety and achieve the highest environmental standards.Liaise with vendors and technology licensors for process enhancements and changes.Train younger or less-experienced engineers by providing necessary guidance, assessing strengths and skills in need of improvement.
Serve as a technical mentor/advisor to enhance the technical knowledge of the engineers through practical field discussions, demonstrations, and/or simulations using available engineering aids.Requirements:Willingness to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
An advanced degree is preferred.You should have a minimum of 10 years of total NGL/LPG process units experience (process engineering and operations) with at least 10 years' experience in handling gas processing and NGL fractionation.Exposure to different licensor technologies for gas processing and NGL fractionation is a plus, and familiarity with Honeywell UOP and Shell licensed units is preferred.Certified PHA/HAZOP leader.You must be able to carry out process simulation using the Aspen software package.
