Wanting to make a true difference by setting the strategy and leading the Medical team that prepares Novo Nordisk Spain for future launches in our new therapy areas (NASH, Alzheimer's, ASCVD)? Embrace the challenge of breaking new grounds and exploring new frontiers. Contribute to our future portfolio success. And with passion and courage, we will go ahead treading a path to improve patient lives.
The Position Our New Therapy Areas team is preparing the organization for our future products launch acting as a bridge between clinical and medical, and in collaboration with other key internal departments. As our new Medical Head for NTA, you will drive the medical strategy and lead the plan execution to establish Novo Nordisk as a key player within NASH, Alzheimer & ASCVD areas in Spain; you will also support the Clinical operations teams in France, Portugal and Spain to execute the Clinical Trials in these areas. But you won't do it alone, you will lead, manage, and develop a team of 6 medical and clinical outstanding professionals.
Some of the functions: Ensure a strong partnership with the Clinical Operations team in Spain, France and Portugal, facilitating the optimal execution of clinical trials related to New Therapy Areas by providing scientific expertise and advice.
Be part of the decision making in topics related to clinical development programmes and product development plans in the three countries.
Ensure the development of the therapeutic areas, defining the KOL engagement strategy, building and growing a solid scientific relation with the appropriate physicians, Scientific Societies and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide cross-functional expertise to internal and external stakeholders and represent Novo Nordisk Spain at local and global meetings.
Be a true leader: foster the team to take ownership and act boldly, coach and share feedback, understand and identify training needs, ensure team well-being and motivation.
Qualifications You are either a Medical Doctor (preferred) or hold a Master's or Ph.D. within Human Life Sciences. You have solid experience in the pharmaceutical industry gained from Medical Affairs and/or Clinical departments. To succeed in the role you should bring:
Experience developing a new therapy area or leading the pre-launch strategy from the medical angle.
Deep understanding of the drug life cycle and experience providing advice to the Clinical Development strategy and tactics.
People management experience.
Previous knowledge/experience in NASH, Alzheimer or ASCVD will be an advantage.
As a person, you are a strong collaborator and communicator, capable of having deep scientific dialogues with KOLs and other stakeholders both in Spanish and English. You are also a natural leader able to take the team to the next level. Navigating the uncertainty, setting direction and making decisions with limited information is also key for this role. Finally, you share our passion and determination to improve patients' lives.
About the Department Under this role, you will report to the Senior Director of Clinical, Medical & Regulatory and be part of our global 'New Therapy Areas' community. The CMR department includes many passionate colleagues who lead the development of medicines, bringing those to patients and driving change in those disease areas that we work in, by focusing on improving outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
