Solar Engineer, Solar Technology Responsibilities:Conduct the screening, feasibility studies, prioritization and due diligence of potential solar projects;Undertake solar PV resource and energy yield analyses including review of irradiation data, PV system design and uncertainty analysis;Work with the Investment team to assess global opportunities to acquire solar facilities and project pipelines for development;Develop and implement global procedures, guidelines and best practices for solar development and operations in collaboration with local engineering teams;Support the development of technical specifications and quality assessment for procurement and operation of main solar components;Lead global technical working groups that analyze field experience and research developments in the solar industry and report findings/solutions;Understand and assess plant performance indicators to identify and lead global performance improvement initiatives;Conduct comparative technical and commercial analyses of equipment suppliers and establish corporate relationships at global level.Requirements:Solid knowledge of leading key equipment suppliers for solar projects, with understanding of bankability, warranties and quality assessment procedures;Good understanding of key items of EPC and O&M contracts;Deep understanding of engineering design and cost optimization of solar projects ready to build;Knowledge of global technical standards and requirements applicable to design, safety and construction of solar plants, and appreciation of the economics of solar energy development;Experience in conducting due diligence of development and operational solar projects to support project financing initiatives;Proven ability to develop strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders;Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English;Ability to work with multinational teams with varying time zones in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities;Position will be based in our Madrid office. Some international travel required.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or Material Science;Technical competency and experience (minimum 5 years) with the design and construction of utility scale solar projects;Knowledge of solar energy production processes gained through Operations, Development, or Engineering support;Experience in PV simulation tools (PVSyst, SAM);Experience with grid connection and power electronics would be an asset;Desired knowledge and/or working experience with Data Management, Analytical and Statistical tools;Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to identify priorities and plan work independently while managing competing deadlines.Salary:48,000.00€ - 50,000.00€ per year
