The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to manage the European accounting function at one of the leading enterprise SaaS companies. We are looking for a highly motivated leader to play a key role within Veeva's global Finance organization that will ensure accurate accounting and reporting for the European entities in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Your leadership will be integral to supporting the growing, global organization while also helping to build scalable processes in a fast-growing dynamic environment. You must be already based in Spain and be eligible for employment within the EU, as Veeva does not sponsor employment visa processes for this role.
What You'll DoResponsible for managing multiple EMEA entities from a U.S. GAAP reporting and local compliance point of view.Manage processes related to month-end and quarter-end close, including supporting the external audit and ensuring compliance with internal controls.Manage a team of accountants, providing excellent leadership and mentoring while continuing to build the function across multiple geographies.Drive the statutory audit process for EMEA entities.Create strong business partnerships with European leaders and U.S. Finance partners.Manage service levels with third-party service providers.Identify and drive process improvement and automation as we scale.Participate and add value to ad-hoc projects such as acquisition integration.Support the global Finance team in design, testing, and roll-out of financial reporting systems/tools/processes.RequirementsMinimum 15+ years progressive finance/accounting experience required with demonstrated team leadership, hiring, and management experience.Team player who is very comfortable working as part of a larger team of a multi-national company.Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and own critical decision-making responsibilities to build and scale the team.Strong business sense and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail-oriented.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Bachelors degree and a recognized accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent.Solid knowledge of US GAAP accounting.Nice to HaveExperience with reporting to a U.S. based parent company.Experience with NetSuite preferred.Software or technology industry experience.Perks & BenefitsPrivate medical insurance.Allocations for continuous learning and development.Health and wellness programs.Veeva charitable giving program.Veeva's headquarters is located in the San Francisco Bay Area with offices in more than 15 countries around the world.
