Position: Sales Tax Accountant
Location: Melville, NY (Hybrid Schedule)
About the Role: Our client, a well-established leader in the Imaging and Office Equipment industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Tax Accountant. This role offers a unique hybrid schedule with one week in-office per month, providing both flexibility and hands-on collaboration with our finance team. As a Sales Tax Accountant, you'll play a critical role in managing the company's multi-state sales tax compliance while contributing to the broader financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare, review, and file multi-state sales and use tax returns using Vertex, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.Conduct in-depth research on tax regulations for products and services to maintain compliance and minimize liabilities.Collaborate with the finance team to implement efficient tax practices and reduce the overall tax burden.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA designation is a plus).
Experience: 3-5 years of multi-state sales tax accounting experience, with a strong understanding of sales and use tax compliance.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Vertex Returns or similar tax management systems.Familiarity with Oracle and Tableau is a plus.Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.Soft Skills: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and interact effectively across teams.
Work Schedule:This role is primarily remote, with a requirement to be in the office for one week each month (preferably before the 20th) to collaborate and align with key stakeholders.
