Responsibilities and Duties The key responsibilities will include:
Project Delivery: Perform advanced statistical and pathway analysis of OMICs data for customer projects. Manage internal teams as well as contractors in the scoping, design, budgeting, definition of project timelines and deliverables, and project delivery. Support development and implementation of processes to ensure high quality delivery and to manage engagement economics and risks. Support coordination of appropriate staffing to maximize revenue and profitability. New Business Development: Technical Sales, Sales Strategy, and Sales Enablement: Support development of new business, working together with a sales team. Lead development of project scope, proposal writing, and pricing strategy. Define sales strategies in collaboration with sales team and a Practice Lead. Create, deliver, and manage delivery of training programs for sales representatives. Practice Development: Contribute to development of services portfolio and strategy. Define offerings based on analysis of existing and emerging markets, customer feedback, scientific innovations, competitive analysis, input from sales, and marketing teams. Lead development of Services Analytics in collaboration with academic and industry partners. Lead development of product-services offerings. Product Development: In collaboration with product development team, support productization of services solutions. Marketing Support: Support marketing strategy and development of marketing materials. Thought Leadership: Lead research projects and publish scientific articles and white papers aimed at demonstrating the value of the services. Qualifications Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Essential: Experience with retrieval, statistical analysis, integration, annotation and visualisation of one or more of the following OMICs data types: microarray, DNA-seq data, bulk and single cell RNA-seq data, proteomics, metabolomics and microbial metagenomics data. Experience with pathway and network analyses. Integration of multiple complementary OMICs data in the context of biological pathways and protein interaction networks. Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R), Unix/Linux shell. Experience with managing complex bioinformatics projects involving multiple researchers. Experience with technical sales, including presentation of capabilities, development of project scope, and proposal writing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct regular presentations, lead customer conversations and write scientific texts/articles/reports. Aptitude for working in a customer-oriented consulting environment: an ability to earn customer trust through effective communication, efficiency, integrity, and deep technical expertise. Good understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, human genetics, and signaling pathways. Self-starter able to work independently and within a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Education and Experience: PhD (or equivalent work experience) in Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computational or Systems Biology, Machine Learning, Computer Science (latter two as applied to solving problems in areas of biology or medicine) or a related field. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in a professional setting, preferably in Pharma or Biotech industry. Consulting experience is preferred.
