Role Purpose:The primary responsibility of the role will be to assist the VAT Manager with ad hoc advisory and compliance deliverables.
The candidate should have the right attitude towards process governance and controls, preparation and reviews of both in-house and outsourced VAT returns.
Interaction with cross-functional teams in FSSC and dealing with multi-locational customers across Europe is essential.
You will be joining a global team of 6 people in the VAT and transfer pricing team.
Key Accountabilities:Support and coordinate compliance deliverables provided by Colt's outsourced VAT provider.Handle statutory/internal audits and support VAT audits.Drive process governance within the VAT team.Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.Identify and timely escalate potential issues to the Reporting Manager.Assist Indirect Tax Manager with tax queries from the business (desirable but not essential).Support such other projects as may be assigned from time to time.Carry out monthly/quarterly/annual variance analysis.Role Specific Requirements:Skills:Understands what 'service' must be provided to customers and delivers this flawlessly.Follows through on customer inquiries, requests, or complaints.Keeps all promises made and delivers to agreed deadlines.Hands over work that is complete, accurate, and of high quality, minimizing disruptions in our ability to deliver.Drives personal development to gain the right skills and experience to perform at the highest standard.Exhibits honesty, openness, integrity, and ethical behavior.Punctual and prepared for meetings, contributing opinions, ideas, and questions to improve outcomes.Develops and uses methods to share information on their role with others within their team.Shares responsibility and provides support when necessary.Be aware of Colt information security, business continuity, quality, and other ISO or equivalent policies/industry standards.Identify risks related to process and information security and treat/mitigate them as appropriate.Experience:Newly or part qualified Chartered Accountant.Minimum of 3 years' work experience handling EU/UK VAT compliance/advisory.Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy.Analytical mindset.Good written and verbal communication, as well as presentation skills.Ability to relate to multi-cultural European customers.Ability to work under significant pressure and commitment to meet stringent timelines.Must possess skills to work cross-functionally, identify best practices, and ensure standardization.Keen to take up extra responsibilities.Mindset of excellent process execution and continuous improvement.Good command of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must be inquisitive, open to learning, and keen to pursue any opportunity for self-development.Colt is a growing business that is investing in its people.
