ASAP is partnering with The Michael J.
Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research (MJFF) to implement and issue this grant.
The project team led by Prof. Vila will be investigating the molecular mechanisms linking brain circuit activity to Parkinson's disease (PD) vulnerability, identify brain circuits through which PD pathology spreads across the brain and periphery, establish non-neuronal mechanisms of PD progression, and determine whether modulation of neuromelanin levels and/or brain circuit activity can restore PD circuit dysfunction & pathology.Education and Qualifications Required: PhD-level training, preferably in a biomedical discipline, with experience in a lab setting and project management skills.Desired: Hands-on experience in a life sciences (preferably neuroscience) research laboratory.Experience and Knowledge Required: Previous experience with multi-partner international scientific project management.Previous experience in reporting and scientific writing.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment, and to meet deadlines.Excellent social and diplomatic skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Availability to travel (at least once a year).Desired: Knowledge of Data Protection legislation, research ethics administration, and in supporting researchers apply for ethical approval.Main Responsibilities and Duties Assist the Coordinating Lead PI of the project with the day-to-day coordination of all team efforts to consistently maintain a high level of functionality and communication.Serve as a bridge between the team's scientific work and its operations, and between members of other ASAP teams, allowing lead investigators to focus on the science
