ABOUT THE ROLE LOCATION: Full Remote, max 1/2 hours +/- CET; max 3 hours flight from Milan (WE WILL REJECT ALL CANDIDATES THAT DO NOT FIT THESE REQUIREMENTS)
SALARY RANGE: 53k-58k + BONUS + 8€ MEAL VOUCHERS (Permanent contract)

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Analytics team and help us transform data into insights that will lead teams to take solid and informed business decisions.
What you'll do (but not limited to): Working closely with our growing BI and Data Science Team, you will develop machine learning systems, implementing ML algorithms and productionising minimum viable data products created by the DS team.These ML efforts will seek to continuously develop and improve operational efficacy and efficiency at WeRoad, across all aspects of the business.You will stay at the forefront of the AI and ML field, ensuring you are up to date with the latest developments in this rapidly evolving space.Additionally, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of our Business Intelligence infrastructure, based on DBT, Airflow, and Google Cloud Platform.Ingest data from internal and external sources using 3rd party tooling (currently funnel.io).Improve and maintain Data Quality and Data Reliability.Move our CRM / CDP / CBP strategy forward.Assume responsibility for the integration and maintenance of a suitable technology and framework solution for Data Documentation and Governance.Specific responsibilities: Study and transform data science prototypes.Design machine learning systems.Research and implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools.Develop machine learning applications according to requirements.Select appropriate datasets and data representation methods.Run machine learning tests and experiments.Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results.Train and retrain systems when necessary.Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks.Keep abreast of developments in the field.Specific requirements: Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar role.Understanding of data structures, data modelling, and software architecture.Deep knowledge of maths, probability, statistics, and algorithms.Ability to write robust code in Python and R.Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn).Excellent communication skills.Ability to work in a team.Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.BSc in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field; Master's degree is a plus.What you'll bring to the table: Taking ownership and responsibility for your work and proposing optimal solutions to business requirements.You have good knowledge of CDP / CBP (Snowplow, ActionIQ, Tealium, Segment or similar).You have good knowledge of Python and SQL (BigQuery, PostgreSQL, MySQL).You have good knowledge of git (Github).You have experience with Airflow and ETL development.You have experience with Event Streaming and processing.You have experience with Product Analytics and tracking tools (Google Analytics, Snowplow, etc.).You have experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.You have good knowledge of Datawarehouse / Data Lakes.You have experience in writing Unit Tests and Integration Tests.Bonus points for having: Knowledge of Clean Code, Clean Architecture, DB migrations.Knowledge of Data Governance tools (Datahub, etc.).Knowledge of Docker.Experience in scraping data.What do we do at WeRoad? Tour operator platform: First released in 2020, it currently enables the core processes of our Product Team such as allotment, buying functionalities, contracting with worldwide suppliers. Still WIP to unleash its full potential.Public website and CMS: A well-performing public website, with a custom in-house developed content and layout management system, constantly evolved to fit all the Product and Marketing needs and stay ahead of the competitors.Bookings platform: Recently released in its early first version, it is a versatile and scalable platform to manage our current and future booking processes, including the sellable items management and the public end-user frontend.Coordinator platform: First released in 2019, with the main scope of allowing our coordinators' community management. Still WIP to enable international scalability and new core functionalities such as tour/coordinator matching and on-tour and post-tour processes management.Technologies we use: We're a fast-growing startup, which means things move fast and change a lot around here. We choose technology based on our needs and to fit our goals. These are programming languages and platforms we currently have in production: SQL in Google BigQuery, Postgres, and MySQL, Tableau (Data Visualization), Airflow, Python, Google Cloud Platform, Redash, Github (Infrastructure and analysis).
