We blend care and creativity to nourish the world.Griffith Foods is a global product development partner, specializing in high-quality food ingredients.We serve global food companies and regional food companies worldwide.The Purpose of the RoleThe Senior Regulatory Manager Europe & Africa has the responsibility of participating in the development of the Regulatory Affairs strategy for Griffith Foods Europe and Africa to enable the ambitious growth plan of the company in alignment with our sustainability platform and has the responsibility of executing and implementing the regulatory strategy.The key focus of the role is to ensure excellence in the area of core regulatory responsibilities and the two specialisms of Sustainability Nutrition and Innovation and Compliance and Business Protection tasks within these areas will be assigned flexibly as appropriate. S/he will represent the company on relevant external regulatory bodies and trade associations as well as in strategic customer and suppliers meetings.Play a key role in the management of internal regulatory response to external food crisis and the communication with all stakeholders (particularly Product Information, R&D, and Purchasing functions) within the EU & Global business on regulatory matters are central responsibilities of this position.The Senior Regulatory Affairs Manager will work seamlessly within the European Regulatory Affairs team (3 members) guaranteeing operational excellence, promoting continuous improvement and enabling the team development.ResponsibilitiesThought Leadership in Regulatory Affairs for Europe & Africa:- Contributing to and executing the Regulatory Affairs strategy for Griffith Foods Europe and Africa to enable the ambitious growth plan of the company in alignment with our sustainability and innovation platform.- Interact with the European authorities and industry specific associations on areas within the scope of competence of the position with implications for the company businesses and products, and convey the company's positions in formal and informal consultations with public authorities and external agencies.- Act as a Regulatory Expert in business protection and compliance.- Representing business interests at trade associations and other (external) regulatory forums relevant to innovation and new business growth.- Developing regulatory policies, codes of practice, introducing new systems and technology, etc.- Monitoring and measuring performance in regulatory management through scorecards and KPIs.- Providing in-depth expert interpretative advice and consultation to customers and other teams within the business related to Food Laws and Regulations in all serviced countries, Product and on-pack claims, Specifications, raw materials and finished goods specifically focusing on new business growth.- Support of Griffith implementation of European Green deal.- Ensure Compliance of current products in market.- Put in place systems in support of Business Protection.- Ensure Alignment with new legislation affecting operation of point of sale.- Play a central role in guiding the company approach to Import / Export regulatory requirements.- Training of Stakeholders in regulatory.- Provide and manage coverage of absence in Regulatory team.- Ensure Supplier and Raw Material processes in place compliance.- Labelling compliance systems in place.- Ensure that all regulatory ERP / GApps are in place.- Tools development to support R&D and Quality data requirements.- Provide an interpretive service to internal and external customers.- Manage the dissemination of applicable Legislation information internally at Griffith Foods.- Evaluate new raw material submissions and authorize use within business.- Ensure that GF Europe meets all the necessary legal requirements on Specialty dietary needs.- High level of expertise advises to customer technical enquiries.- Ensuring regulatory and policy compliance updating policies and procedures when necessary.Team and Operational Leadership:- Effectively coaching, developing, and motivating the junior team members of the team (regulatory and PI) to achieve the functional objectives while ensuring and promoting a productive and collaborative way of working aligned with our company values.- Promotes Operational Excellence leading process and methodology improvements activities within the team and supporting (and leading in certain areas) implementation of a new ERP system.- This position may have 1-2 direct reports.Health & Safety:- Proactively and visibly supports the Health and Safety standards, rules and regulations of the organisation.Requirements- Bachelor or Masters-level in Food Science, Food Law or similar.- Senior level experience in regulatory affairs role.
