PROCESS CHEMIST JOB ADVERTISEMENT General Responsibilities: Laboratory work as Chemist within the Process Development department.
Develop synthetic plans and design and run experiments to test the suitability of chemical processes for large-scale use.
Evaluate and propose different synthetic alternatives considering chemical complexity, profitability, intellectual property, and EHS aspects.
Use the appropriate and available analytical methods and tools to monitor reaction processes and product quality output.
Proactively participate in activities shared with the Analytical Development department.
Maintain familiarity with Regulatory Guidelines and requirements including cGMP.
Communicate effectively with peers, leads, and management about the status of the assigned activities.
Report, communicate and discuss the progress of the projects with all involved stakeholders (internal and external), including collaboration with cross-functional multinational teams.
Requirements: Education: Preferably holds a degree in chemistry or other related disciplines.
Languages: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal are required; although for Spanish it is not mandatory, the candidate will commit to learning/improving the language to at least a B1 level.
Capable of working well under pressure and within a team environment.
Self-motivation, creativity, flexibility, initiative, and good management of priorities.
Problem-solving mindset.
Excellent housekeeping and safety practices.
Good communication and IT skills.
Commercially oriented, with a clear customer focus (internal and external).
Desired Experience: Proven technical experience in the fine chemicals industry will be very valuable.
Experience in chemical synthesis and process development will be valuable.
Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, NMR.
Ability to effectively perform literature searches using available tools such as SciFinder.
Experience using Design of Experiment (DOE) principles.
