The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain. It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is involved in significant HPC initiatives in Europe. The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.
Context And Mission:
The BSC communication team's mission is to publicize the BSC and its activities through various channels, media, and events to strengthen public awareness and understanding of science and technology. The chosen person will manage media relations and produce scientific and institutional content to engage target audiences.
Key Duties: Prepare press releases and other communications materials for different audiences.Liaise with media contacts ensuring key messages are communicated accurately and effectively.Monitor and analyze the results of communications activities using key performance indicators (KPIs).Produce and supervise the production of content in various formats for different communication channels.Maintain contact with researchers and dissemination officers to identify topics for disclosure.Prepare calendars for dissemination in coordination with departments and the BSC Communication Unit.Coordinate dissemination with external partners involved.Collaborate in institutional communication activities.Requirements: Education: Bachelor degree in communications, journalism, or a technological field; Master or postgraduate courses will be considered.Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Three years of experience in scientific communication; solid scientific background; exceptional scientific writing skills.Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: English fluency.Competences: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; ability to translate complex technical language; proactive in contributing creative ideas; strong organizational skills; fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan.Conditions:
The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible hours, extensive training, and competitive salary. The contract is open-ended and linked to project duration.
