Job Description
As a C++ Developer at Proofpoint, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and efficient solutions that meet our clients' needs. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in C++, with a focus on modern standards (C++11 or newer), a solid understanding of networking concepts, and experience working in a Linux environment.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain C++ applications using modern C++ standards (C++11 or newer).Implement and optimize networking protocols and features within software applications.Collaborate with software engineers, system architects, and other team members to develop high-quality software solutions.Debug, test, and profile applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with team members.Work in an Agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure continuous improvement and innovation.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong proficiency in C++ (C++11 or newer) with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles.Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP), and experience with socket programming.Proficiency in Linux, with experience developing and deploying applications in a Linux environment.Experience with multi-threaded and concurrent programming.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
