ResponsibilitiesAn automation engineer's job involves designing, programming, simulating, testing, maintaining and repairing automated processes. You will work with automated machinery from concept to prototype to help deliver solutions for manufacturing processes. You will also be responsible for providing detailed documentation to assist in production.
Using technology to improve and automate several processesCreate, deploy and manage technologies that control production and deliveryManage robotics, AGVs or machines performing specific functionsService automation to quality assuranceHandle design specifications and other detailed documentationDevelop detailed specificationsAccountable for developing automation software solutions (PLC) based on specific requirementsDevelop documents and specifications to improve efficiency processesExplore and implement new ways to automate systemsDesign and test automation equipment and processesProgram new automated components or systemsIdentify automated error proofing systems to avoid quality issuesMaintain automation equipmentTroubleshoot equipment and perform complex system testsSkillsProgramming and coding experience (PLC)Analytical and problem-solving skillsCritical thinking to develop practical solutions for complex automation processesArtificial intelligence and machine learningProject & Data managementAbility to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlinesTypical Experience/Education- Degree in related field.
- 10+ years working experience in manufacturing environment/industry.
