Celestica, the Global Manufacturer of Electronic Components, is seeking an Automation Engineer to support the implementation of a brilliant, world-class manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities An automation engineer's job involves designing, programming, simulating, testing, maintaining and repairing automated processes. You will work with automated machinery from concept to prototype to help deliver solutions for manufacturing processes. You will also be responsible for providing detailed documentation to assist in production.
Using technology to improve and automate several processes
Create, deploy and manage technologies that control production and delivery
Manage robotics, AGVs or machines performing specific functions
Service automation to quality assurance
Handle design specifications and other detailed documentation
Develop detailed specifications
Accountable for developing automation software solutions (PLC) based on specific requirements
Develop documents and specifications to improve efficiency processes
Explore and implement new ways to automate systems
Design and test automation equipment and processes
Program new automated components or systems
Identify automated error proofing systems to avoid quality issues
Maintain automation equipment
Troubleshoot equipment and perform complex system tests
Skills Programming and coding experience (PLC)
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Critical thinking to develop practical solutions for complex automation processes
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
Project & Data management
Ability to work under pressure and deliver results within deadlines
Typical Experience/Education - Degree in related field.
- 10+ years working experience in manufacturing environment/industry.
