Plant Purchasing Manager
Job Summary
Mission
The Plant Purchasing Manager, reporting to the South Europe & MEA Purchasing manager, will ensure the operational continuity of the different sites of his perimeter: Rubi, Alicante, El Ejido, Moron, and Mijas, for a total purchasing spend of 25M€.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Local Purchases:
- Responsible for the purchase contracts for local purchases OpEx / CapEx.
- Support deployment of larger CapEx on his/her sites.
- Frequent local presence in the different sites of his/her perimeter.
- Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contracts.
- Propose and manage local purchase synergies.
- Monitoring suppliers: Performance, KPI's, Appraisal.
- Reporting and analysis, capture of data, collaboration with financial departments for documented financial performance of his/her targets.
Responsible for the Deployment of Global / Regional Category Management Policy & Strategy:
- Work closely with regional category managers (indirect, transport, energy, chemicals, packaging, raw materials, mining, capex).
- Ensure compliance with purchasing strategy and policy at site level.
- Organize and coordinate local trials with the suppliers (Global/Regional/Local Suppliers).
- Lead new purchasing initiatives at cross-clusters or at country level, on a case-by-case basis.
Playing an active role in Continuous Improvement Processes and Strategy:
- Be the single point of contact to the plant managers of the designated sites.
- Collect the local purchasing requirements: anticipate, collect and optimize the sites requirements in terms of quantity and specifications.
- Ensure internal customer satisfaction with the performance of the purchasing team.
- Entry point for all purchase requests.
- Supplier quality management.
- Close collaboration with supply chain/procurement.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:
- Leadership, problem solving, interpersonal, communications, planning, team participation skills, and/or language requirements.
- Highly motivated and proactive driver of change.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills - both internally and externally.
- Ability to have a global view and link business need to purchasing strategy.
- Confident decision maker.
- Proficient in Google tools, MS Office software, experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP/R3, SPA/HANA, IFS).
- Ability to quickly understand high-level technical elements of the category being handled.
- Understanding and actively promote the procurement cycle.
- Ability to support and champion the development and introduction of effective purchasing methods and tools.
- Languages: Spanish and English (advanced level).
- Previous experience for at least 5 years as Purchasing Manager is required.
