WHAT YOU'LL DO
BCG's Knowledge Team (KT) is integral to BCG's approximately twenty global Industry and Functional Practice businesses. As a billable, expertise-based, professional services organization, KT plays various roles ranging from being part of client case teams alongside consulting and other professional services staff to developing and managing intellectual property (IP) specific to functional topics or industry sector-based businesses.
In 2020, BCG's KT organization introduced the Client Focus (CF) KT path to enhance KT's contribution to case teams and clients through a fully staffed model. The CF KT path involves intensive staffing on client cases, utilizing individual expertise and knowledge assets, including IP, products, and tools, through diverse engagement models. This career path offers accelerated development opportunities for those eager to engage deeply in client cases and thrive in the fast-paced environment.
As a Client Focus (CF) KT Talent Manager, you will work with a wide range of KT members across all BCG regions, collaborating with their KT Managers to define development agendas that integrate staffing needs, learning, coaching, and expertise development. You will assist in assessing and identifying developmental needs and recommending actions to address those needs in collaboration with the KT Manager and other BCG teams, including KT Learning & Development. You will provide direct mentoring and apprenticeship for KT skills and general junior consulting skills outside of expertise-specific aspects. Additionally, you will team with KT Managers to offer career advice to KT members.
Your responsibilities will include: Providing Individual Development Support:
Engage with Client Focus KT and their managers to assess developmental needs, including learning options, new assignments, staffing options, and exposure to new stakeholders, to accelerate career progression.
Identify gaps in consulting and KT skills, offering one-on-one skills coaching and advice on related learning needs. Define solutions with KT Managers, the KT Learning & Development function, and other BCG capabilities.
Ensure that staffing opportunities align with developmental needs and career trajectory and specialization.Advising Individuals on Career Growth Options:
Build and maintain relationships with CF KT staff to understand their background and professional aspirations.
Advise on available learning resources aligned with developmental needs and career trajectory.
Explore developmental actions such as staffing, external exposure, networking, and senior stakeholder engagement.
Coach and guide CF KT throughout their career lifecycle, offering options and opportunities for potential moves to generalist and/or expert consulting career tracks, Topic Activation KT, or other client-facing roles. Act as a trusted advisor to guide individuals to outcomes beneficial to both the individual and the business.Advising KT Managers on Career Development (CD) Activities:
Guide KT Managers on Career Development activities, helping them interpret feedback and advising on developmental implications for their CF KT team members.
Provide guidance and quality assurance to KT Managers on individual CD dossiers, ensuring best practices and clear messaging to CF KT individuals.Delivering Insight to KT Leadership and People Management Team:
Provide visibility to KT business leadership, KT HR Leadership, and KT Learning & Development about CF KT developmental needs, recognizing patterns to adapt and enhance offers accordingly.
Collaborate with KT HR, KT Learning & Development, and Career Development teams to identify broader needs around learning, expertise building, and career growth.
Address and resolve employee relations issues in partnership with Regional HR and KT Managers.

You will be a key interface to CF KT members, and you will advise on developmental needs and career options. You will work jointly with KT Managers so that accurate developmental actions are defined and executed.
You will work closely with the KT Learning Manager, to define and leverage learning options addressing both holistic and individual development needs. You will also collaborate with our CD (Career Development) Managers and Specialists (contributing to CD dossiers, advising about career progression, etc.), and HR professionals.
