Get to know our Purpose and make it yours by bringing innovations to market that improve the world, share a commitment to sustainability that makes our planet better and give back to communities in which we work and live.We currently have a challenging opportunity for a Research & Development Engineer to join the DuPont Water Solutions R&D Center in Tarragona, Spain through a permanent position.Reporting to the EMEA Research and Development function, the primary focus of this role is to lead research and development experiments on reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, and ultrafiltration membranes in water treatment applications, that are taking place in the Global Water Technology Center in Tarragona.Water Solutions, a business unit of the new DuPont, develops, manufactures, and sells a portfolio of high-technology enabling components for use in water purification systems around the world. These products are used extensively in seawater desalination, water reuse, municipal and industrial applications as well as small community water systems for drinking water. These technologies include Membrane Aerated Bioreactor (MABR), pressurized ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO), and nanofiltration (NF) membranes and ion exchange resins (IER).Your key responsibilities:Proactively identify and implement changes to enhance the team's effectiveness.Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own technology discipline to formulate programs and create solutions for customers and other stakeholders.Leads and contributes to multiple projects to develop solutions, drive business adoption of technology and meet customer needs.Suggests, creates, and leads innovations, applying tested ideas or methods from other areas.Solves complex problems independently, takes a new perspective on existing solutions, exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.May lead specific technical segments in larger R&D programs.Support the research and development team in daily activities with other water-related projects.Preparation of proper Design of Experiments starting up new research projects.Accurate and robust skills for data evaluation and critical interpretation including statistical tools and data science, creating patterns or relationships between the data and pilot results if required.Guides, trains, and develops others, leading teams and coaching colleagues to solve complex problems.Scientific Excellence in reporting and documentation of the data generated.A bonus for this position is any experience in sensors, electronics, programming, and Arduino to work on sensors development.Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering is required. Master and PhD will be a plus for this position.Experience in water is required.Good working knowledge of English is mandatory.Background with Statistics, Data Science or Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence is preferred.Background with Information Technologies and programming is a plus.Background with sensors development and programming is a plus.Sharing and presenting the results for the wider scientific community is preferred.Good interpersonal skills and capability to work in a multinational environment are a must.
