.Job Description: You will partner with the Research Director to drive the research strategy and manage a team that is currently composed of five research analysts and one data scientist.
You will also coordinate across Dow Jones to leverage our in-house markets data and proprietary ESG scoring methodology as well as the global news reporting capabilities of The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, Barrons, and Marketwatch.
You will play a central role in creating proprietary research related to sustainability as well as broader capital markets themes.
You will work closely with the research analysts and will act as a mentor for them, working to continually elevate the quality and value of the team's output, which includes real-time analysis and longer-form thematic reports.
You will also present regularly to a variety of audiences, in forums ranging from webinars to major events.Responsibilities: Perform in-depth research and write high-quality market analysis that contributes to raise the overall quality content of the team.
Identify data-driven insights and trends from large data sets, with a focus on actionability, quality, and accuracy.
Create ESG and capital markets research, including brief, quasi-real time pieces and longer-formats such as thematic research, industry reports or similar.
Represent the team at internal and external webinars and events.
Help manage the research team.
Train and mentor junior analysts.
Qualifications: At least 7 years of professional experience in a buy or sell-side or ESG/sustainability research environment.
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Statistics/Math, Economics or related field of study.
Experience producing research commentary addressing capital markets and/or ESG/sustainability thematic topics, such as climate change, natural capital, diversity and inclusion or supply chain.
Strong analytical skills, with advanced Excel skills a minimum requirement.
Additional data science and programming skills highly desirable.
Completion of one or more professional designation.
Outstanding financial modeling and analytical skills, writing, client communications, and presentation delivery.
Ability to communicate clearly to internal and external audiences with varying levels of sophistication and knowledge about purpose-driven investing objectives.
