Position Overview: As a Worker's Compensation Attorney, you will advocate for insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers while managing a variety of legal tasks related to workers' compensation cases. You will handle cases from start to finish, ensuring proactive case management, building strong client relationships, and staying up to date on the latest developments in workers' compensation law. Key Responsibilities Represent clients, including insurance carriers and self-insured employers, in workers' compensation cases. Prepare client correspondence and draft legal pleadings. Attend court appearances, depositions, and cross-examinations of medical professionals. Negotiate settlements and resolve lien claims in workers' compensation cases. Proactively manage case files, including keeping track of important deadlines and maintaining accurate documentation in PracticeMaster. Mentor and manage the legal assistant assigned to your team. Foster relationships with clients, co-workers, and external vendors. Participate in marketing events to engage new and existing clients. Enter time into billing software and review case files regularly to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Conduct training seminars for clients on evolving workers' compensation laws. Stay current with workers' compensation statutes and case law. Perform additional tasks or duties as needed to support the firm and clients.
