Womenswear Jersey Senior Designer - Maternity coverWho We Are:We are one of the leading Asian suppliers and manufacturers of Ladies, Men and Children's, fashion clothing to a great number of reputable high street retailers.Key Responsibilities:The designer position requires someone with excellent design skills and the ability to design into the different brands and departments.You will have direct contact with the clients and work on their design requests.Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends – fabric, colour, shape, and identify areas for development.Create commercial and innovative designs and product ranges.Oversee the development and execution of technical development packs.Lead customer meetings, communicating with buyers regularly and building relationships.Work collaboratively with the team in China to bring your designs to life.Manage own workload and deadlines.Person Requirements:Strong womenswear background from either a retailer or supplier.Knowledge of licensing and activewear would be appreciated.Multi product category design experience.Excellent photoshop and illustrator skills.A team player approach to all aspects of the business.Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Good eye for commercial product and trends.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.Willing to travel.Passionate, enthusiastic, shows initiative.A strong interest and understanding of the industry, what's happening on the high street, catwalks, and social media.Commercial awareness – interpreting and translating trends to meet the customer profile.Good knowledge of garment construction and fitting.
