Senior Project Manager EATRIS External Strategy VHIR offers a vacant position for a Senior Project Manager for the External Strategy Area.
The mission of this Area is to contribute to the institutional positioning strategy of VHIR and to centralize and coordinate the management of institutional strategic projects and other transversal initiatives.
This office is integrated by highly qualified Project Managers (PMs) responsible for the overall management of the different projects and initiatives run by the Unit.
PMs also support the Unit to attract competitive international/national research and innovation projects in line with the priorities of VHIR Strategy Plan.
JOB DESCRIPTION Education and qualifications: University Degree in Life Sciences.
A PhD/MBA will be valued.
Experience and knowledge: At least 7 years of working experience in the conceptualization and management of European research and Innovation projects, preferably in leading positions, representing the project coordinator or Work Package leader.
Previous experience in the translational biomedical research process with knowledge on the innovation system and the regulatory landscape.
Project Management competencies and experience with the preparation of national and international grants.
Excellent written and oral communication in Spanish and English is a must.
Knowledge of other European languages is an asset.
Good command of MS Office and other computer tools.
Well-organized, proactive, results-oriented professional with close attention to detail.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Main responsibilities and duties: Act as Innovation Manager for the European Joint Programme for Rare Diseases (EJP-RD), in strong coordination with EATRIS HQs in Amsterdam.
Participate in the generation of an innovation management toolbox.
Fostering and assessment of ongoing and new translational research projects.
Establish and manage mentoring teams for translational research projects in rare diseases.
Participation and organization of networking events (researchers, clinicians, funders, and promoters).
Detection and promotion of business opportunities related to foster translation projects.
Collaboration in the innovation awareness activities among the Rare Diseases Research Community.
Manage and promote the participation of the institution in EATRIS, being VHIR responsible for the scientific coordination of the Spanish node of EATRIS.
Day-to-day activities might include participation and engagement in the Spanish node of EATRIS.
Liaise regularly with EATRIS Spanish National Coordinator, based in Madrid.
Support the Spanish National Director of EATRIS at VHIR with the new members' affiliation process.
Manage the internal and external communication between all stakeholders.
