GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Global Platform Services (GPS) Department at EDP is looking for a self-motivated individual with strong analytical and coding skills to help us establish a knowledge hub on meteorology & global climate modeling.
This is a wide-ranging role in which you will be working in a transversal manner with a parent company, other colleagues at the Global Platform Services department in EDP, and with potential external entities.
The position requires skills in teamwork, empathy to understand end user needs, creativity on innovative ideas during the design phase, data analytics, documentation, and final service deployment.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES Integrate new verified climate modeling tools on Azure cloud in EDPR.Support Global Platform Services and Global Energy Management (GEM) platform by developing applications aligned with specific needs, such as those related to seasonal forecast analysis and ad-hoc climate studies.Generate the required documentation of the developed tools (user guide, versions track record, etc.) and organize internal training courses to ease and familiarize end users.Set a reference knowledge hub on climatology and climate modeling in the EDPR EA department.Keep up-to-date with climatology and long-term forecasting by attending related courses, webinars, and workshops.Develop advanced skills in open source statistical coding (i.e. R and Python) as well as on Azure cloud computing (i.e. Spark).Assist with creating and editing presentations for senior management, conferences, board meetings, and internal management meetings.Additional duties and special projects as required.REQUIREMENTSREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Deep knowledge of meteorology, climatology, and long-term forecasts.High experience in data analytics and programming in at least one language (preferably Python).Strong communication, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills.General knowledge about the renewable energy sector.REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Meteorology, Engineering, or Physics (analytics).
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year of experience in project management and data analysis/science will be considered.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Full proficiency in English is required.
IT SKILLS: Experience in programming in at least one language (R or Python, preferably Python); Linux will be an asset.
