.We are seeking a dynamic visionary to join as Head of R&D; APJ for our Vision business, based in Singapore. This position will be a member of both the Vision R&D; Leadership Team and theAPAC Leadership Team. In this role, the primary responsibility is to serve as the R&D; liaison between global R&D; , regional markets, and cross-functional teams that are both global and regional. This role will be accountable for leading R&D; programs in APJ, including collaborative R&D; projects with external partners across the full spectrum of eye heath – from pediatric to developed to mature eyes. The Head of R&D; APJ must bring the voice of regional markets to the global R&D; platforms and new product pipeline across the entire Vision portfolio.Serving as a R&D; liaison and SME for APJwill support regional insights, NPI and new product approval and launch. The Head of R&D; APJ will champion regional innovation and R&D; projects to ensure theyreceive the necessary technical support from NPD, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory diligence. It is essential for this leader to be a collaborator and strong technical voice that drives fit for use innovation to win in APAC. This role will also develop and lead product and technology training programs for regional cross functional teams and external customers, in partnership with Prof. Ed and global cross functional R&D; SMEs. The Head of R&D; APJ will represent our organization at scientific conferences and seminars, delivering presentations and engaging with customers to showcase our product and technology. As the Head of R&D; APJ, collaboration withinnovation functions such as New Business Development,, JLABS, JJInnovation, and global external innovation partners is also critical.Effective collaboration will identify regional innovation and partnership opportunities, bring visibility and recommendations to the global R&D; platform teams, and ultimately strengthen our position as leaders in eye health innovation. This role will also ensure compliance in all external innovation programs by liaising with support functions like IP, legal, healthcare compliance, procurement, and finance.Qualifications Required Qualifications:Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Polymer/Material Science, Optics Design, Vision science, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology. Alternatively, a PhD in a technical field or an advanced degree in Ophthalmology/Optometry with experience in clinical/scientific or engineering research will also be considered.Preferably, experience in eye health, contact lenses, and MedTech research, particularly in global and/or regional (APJ)R&D.; Minimum ten years of relevant experience. At least five years of experience managing and supervising teams or project management experience leading technical teams/SME's
