Job Description: As a team member of Global Procurement & Real Estate team, this role is focused on negotiating competitive deals with SGS suppliers across multiple categories based on defined priorities and sourcing plan. Following the competitive selection process, this role also focuses on contract negotiations, implementation and follow-up. This person is responsible for leading and executing full sourcing process, contract negotiation and management independently at all stages of each process.
Primary Responsibilities: Sourcing & NegotiatingTogether with procurement teams and various stakeholders develops a pipeline of (sourcing) projects based on internal and external analysis and fully aligned with the stakeholders' requirements.Ensures the tenders are executed in the way that they deliver best value (price / product or service), with minimum risk to our affiliates and suppliers commit to comply with SGS code of conduct.Ensure that the procurement process is run in the most efficient way and according to SGS standards.Is able to evaluate the proposals and make recommendations at TCO level.Proactively uses SGS procurement tools (sourcing, projects/savings reporting, contract database, etc.).Prepares negotiation strategy.Involves all parties that need to bring input or participate in decisions.Pro-actively and effectively collaborate with and involve relevant internal stakeholders that need to bring input and/or participate in decisions.Primary Responsibilities: Contracting and Follow-upEnsures that agreements with suppliers meet the legal requirements.Understands key contractual clauses and how to use them for the best protection of SGS.Ensures all relevant SGS requirements are clearly specified in the contract, together with agreed KPIs, SLA and penalties.Is accountable for contract finalization and related timelines.Initiates implementation of the contract when required and follows up on the progress.Ensures that price evolution during the contract life cycle is aligned with procurement objectives guaranteeing price competitiveness and stability by constantly monitoring the market evolution and challenging contracted suppliers.Conducts regular performance reviews with suppliers to review the evolution of relationship and spend, ensure compliance with the contract and relevant SLAs.Assist business when required in the operational supplier relationship management.Qualifications:A bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.Proven negotiation and contractual experience.Very good understanding of contract laws and standard forms of contracts.At least five years of experience in a strategic Procurement role in a multinational organization.Strong Leadership & Influencing skills to work in a matrix organization.Entrepreneurial skills, allowing to take independent decisions when appropriate, always in alignment with the line manager.Strong but diplomatic senior personality with high ambitions; Able to build trust, respect and confidence.Clear and fast thinker able to talk "stakeholder language" and convince them; Acts quickly and decisively; able to make tough calls.Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities, interacting and adjusting to diverse cultures and time-zones.Ability to negotiate in English is a must. Another language a plus.Strong negotiation skills and techniques for large and complex procurement deals.Very good excel and data management skills.Strong stakeholder & change management capability.Strategic thinker but also hands-on. Roll up the sleeves mentality is required.Pragmatic, self-starter, efficient and highly driven by objectives.Excellent interpersonal communications and presentation skills.Teamwork and oriented to internal customer service.Detail and process-oriented, and analytical with strong work organization capability.Empathy (be able to think in the shoes of the other negotiating party).Ability to work fully virtually with teams, stakeholders and suppliers.Additional Information: This position will be based at our offices in Madrid with the possibility to work from home 50% of your time.
