St George Madrid is a well-established school located in a prime educational zone to the North of the capital. The school is part of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a collection of 77 schools across 21 countries focused on growing internationally minded students through outstanding practice. The school operates on a large campus with many new and developing facilities and has seen significant growth in recent years.
The successful candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner, preferably with experience teaching Mathematics across the secondary phase up to the end of Key Stage 5 (Year 13). We follow the English National Curriculum at Key Stage 3, followed by IGCSE at Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma programme in our Sixth Form (Key Stage 5). Experience teaching across this range would be a distinct advantage.
We offer Mathematics A&I (SL) and A&A (SL & HL) in the IB Diploma, and there is an expectation that the successful candidate would take at least one of these classes. Training will be provided for teachers who wish to develop to teach the IB Diploma programme, provided they have the necessary mathematical knowledge.
As part of the secondary team, the successful candidate would assist in developing the school's Mathematics programme within our Mathematics department. As an international school, we expect all staff to commit to the life of the school through our after-school programme and various events throughout the year.
