About the Role:
Provide support and assist with all aspects of the Financial Accounting, Tax and Treasury functions.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail and good communication skills. Complete a variety of accounting and technical functions pertaining to the company's coinsurance and reinsurance risks.
Key Responsibilities:

These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role will play an important part in ensuring all statutory and taxation compliance requirements within LSM, LMIE, LSSL Spanish branches are met.
The candidate will work closely with the rest of the Finance Department in the head office, in order to ensure consistency and develop and maintain across the function, proactively driving the ongoing improvement of business practices and performance across the team.
He/She will work co-operatively and positively with all internal departments, providing excellent service and support and advice where applicable.
External contact will mainly be with LSM's Auditors, Brokers, Insurance Companies, Public Administration, to provide reporting, documentation, tax etc.
Prepare month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations for a number of accounts including the VAT, Fixed Assets and Intercompany accounts.
Banking & treasury, processing treasury related journals at month-end and reconciling the balance sheet accounts.
Set up standing order and manual payments, including international payments.
Prepare and VAT documentation file monthly.
Keep abreast of developments in VAT regulations and suggest changes to ensure compliance.
Withholding Tax documentation to be submitted to Rosclar.
Request Residence certificate to avoid double taxation in relation to International reinsurance payments.
Corporation Tax process for the branch.
Keep abreast of developments in regulations and suggest changes to ensure compliance.
Other responsibilities working with the Financial Accounting Team.
Assist with the submission of the annual regulatory obligations.
Prepare and oversee all coinsurance entries required for the accurate closing of the monthly financial results.
Process treaty distribution to translate it to the Spanish regulators, including collecting balances due to/from coinsurers and facultative reinsurers on a timely basis.
Skills and Experience:
Relevant experience within a similar financial accounting role.
Fluent in Spanish and English.
Experience working with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access and Power Point.
Good experience across multiple Finance and Administration tools.
Knowledge of Accounting programs; Cytrix, Sap.
