Context And Mission The System Tools and Advanced Runtimes (STAR) group explores research across multiple layers of the system software stack, from OS, runtimes, and low-level APIs to programming models, tools, and applications.
Our goal is to improve the system software stack to support increasingly complex workloads such as traditional HPC, AI, and Data Analytics on massively parallel HPC and Cloud platforms.
The STAR group offers a position to work on the LLVM compiler infrastructure and the LLVM Open MP runtime system.
We are looking for a researcher interested in working on compilers and runtimes for parallel programming models, with opportunities to participate in industrial, national, and European research projects.
Key Duties Extend and support the Task-Aware libraries. Extend and support the LLVM Open MP runtime and other runtime systems developed in the group. Requirements Education: PhD in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or equivalent.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Experience in LLVM compiler infrastructure and Open MP LLVM runtime system. Excellent computing skills and experience in C/C++ programming languages. Experience in other HPC technologies such as Open MP, MPI, CUDA, or Open CL. Competences: Ability to take the initiative, prioritize, and work under set deadlines and pressure. Ability to work independently and in a team. Conditions The position will be located at BSC within the Computer Sciences Department.
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures.
Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona.
Starting date: 1/12/2024.
