Hupac Ibérica and TPNova Rail & Logistics Services have formed a UTE (Temporary Union of Enterprises) to manage the new intermodal terminal of La Llagosta. This partnership resulted from winning the tender issued by Adif, owner of the Spanish railway infrastructure, for the management of the new terminal of La Llagosta, which will be operational in 2025 and has a duration of 25 years. The La Llagosta terminal is intended to improve logistics capacity in the region, offering advanced intermodal solutions and improving Spain's connectivity with the rest of Europe.
The UTE Hupac Ibérica & TPNova Rail & Logistics Services is currently looking for a director to oversee the management of the La Llagosta terminal.
This figure will be in charge of strategic development, ensuring efficient operations and fostering relationships with key stakeholders to lead the terminal's success and growth.
Main Responsibilities:Supervise and manage all operational and administrative aspects of the terminal.Coordinate local contacts: partners, railway companies, and customers.Manage and lead a team of operational and administrative staff, ensuring that all employees receive the appropriate training, are motivated, and work to their full potential.Develop and implement work processes, including safety protocols, to ensure the proper and efficient operation of the terminal.Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings by implementing new strategies when necessary.Conduct market analyses for the development of new traffics.Elaborate business plans and budgets.Monitor economic trends and draw up reports.Represent the UTE with local and national institutions/organisations.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.Requirements:Minimum ten years of experience in a similar role, with a solid background in intermodal transport and/or logistics, in two or more rail intermodal terminals with activity volumes above 100,000 ITU, or alternatively, in one rail intermodal terminal with activity volumes above 200,000 ITU.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with proven experience in leading and motivating operational staff.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to intermodal transport, including ISO, quality, and safety regulations.Knowledge of the Office package, especially Excel.Excellent knowledge of both English and Spanish.Driving licence, category B.Soft Skills:Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with the team and with the interested parties.Contacts with competent institutions and authorities.Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively, by finding practical and innovative solutions.Strong results orientation and ability to work in a dynamic, performance-oriented environment.Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Adaptability and flexibility in dealing with changes and new challenges.Willingness to travel.Contract duration: 25 years (linked to the contract with ADIF and duration of the UTE)
