VP Regulatory Tax ComplianceCountry: SpainSCIB Compliance Europe is looking for a VP Regulatory Tax Compliance, based in the EU.Santander Corporate Investment Banking (SCIB) is Santander's global division that supports some of the world's most complex and sophisticated corporate and institutional clients, offering customized services and value-added wholesale products to best meet their needs.Santander is proud of being an organization where there are equal opportunities regardless of gender identity, culture, and disability.Our mission is to contribute to help more people and businesses prosper.We embrace a strong risk culture and all our professionals are expected to take a proactive and responsible approach toward risk management.The SCIB Europe Compliance team was established to support Santander CIB branches in Europe with knowledge and expertise on specialized compliance topics, such as Financial Crime Compliance, Data Protection, and Tax regulations.The team also has a dedicated group of professionals working on the continuous improvement of internal Compliance processes and bringing Compliance MI to the next level.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe VP Regulatory Tax Compliance is the special matter expert on FATCA and CRS matters and the central point of contact for SCIB branches on this subject.The VP Compliance performs Risk oversight - advise, oversee, challenge, guide decision making and provide an independent view of risk across the business, so reports the outcome to SCIB senior management.He / she ensures policies and procedures are updated to align with changes in tax regulations.We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:Oversee all aspects of regulatory tax compliance with FATCA and CRS.Stay abreast of changes in regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders.
Update policies and procedures to reflect such changes.Serve as a trusted, second line of defense advisor to the business on the legal requirements of FATCA and CRS.Support the annual Risk Control self-assessment process by advising the business on FATCA and CRS inherent risks and mitigating controls of the business units in Europe.Provide independent challenge of first line of defense risk assessment results.Develop and provide training on tax regulations to employees.EXPERIENCEMinimum of years of relevant experience in tax compliance, preferably in the financial sector.Master's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Expert knowledge of FATCA and CRS regulations and reporting requirements.SKILLS KNOWLEDGEEffective communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts.Proven ability to work independently and to collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies.Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.OTHER INFORMATIONOffice location in Boadilla del Monte, Spain or Amsterdam, The Netherlands; partial remote working accepted.
