Job OverviewThe Vice President Medical Strategy and Head of the Hematology / Oncology COE provides strategic medical and scientific leadership, subject matter experience and expertise to IQVIA and to IQVIA's clients in Hematology and Oncology.The overarching remit is to grow IQVIA's market share in hematology and oncology and will develop strategies toward that goal.They will participate in, and lead a team of hematologists and oncologists whose activities include but are not necessarily limited to:Early engagement of potential customersProposal development in response to RFPsParticipation in client proposal bid defense meetingsActing as a subject matter expert and consultant throughout the research and development lifecycle and the duration of clinical trialsProviding independent customer solutionsThey collaborate across the organization to ensure that all of IQVIA's resources are fully leveraged in opportunities. Participation in thought leadership activities is highly encouraged.May have as many as 10 direct reports.ResponsibilitiesLead strategic direction of the Hematology and Oncology Center of ExcellenceDemonstrate oversight in strategic proposal development in conjunction with leaders of other functions.Act as consultant to their team members throughout the research and development life cycle and the duration of clinical trials.Review the COE business plans for those under their remit to create sustainable business growth and make recommendations to the enterprise.RequirementsA medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school with subspecialty training in some area of hematology or oncology with at least 5 years of demonstrable experience and expertise in the relevant therapeutic area within the biopharmaceutical industry.Requires a minimum of ten years of prior relevant experience, with at least five years of experience outside of the training period within the biopharmaceutical industry either directly or indirectly.CRO experience is preferred.Requires advanced business knowledge, general management, and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.Excellent skills in providing consultation and advice on multiple assignments are required, as well as initiative and flexibility.Must be able to travel nationally and internationally, approximately 20% of the time, which may be same day or overnight.LI-remoteIQVIA is a leading global provider of advanced analytics, technology solutions, and clinical research services to the life sciences industry.We believe in pushing the boundaries of human science and data science to make the biggest impact possible to help our customers create a healthier world.
