Amazon's Brand Innovation Lab team is seeking a skilful, customer-obsessed Visual Designer to create brand-focused digital and visual experiences displayed across Amazon sites, Amazon devices, and external sites. As a Visual Designer, you are passionate about delivering world-class graphic solutions and customer experiences to worldwide top advertisers. You are both imaginative and pragmatic, feeling comfortable delivering exceptional creatives in a fast-paced environment. You will collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders to integrate top standard craft and customer experience into sponsorship offerings. You are proactive and solution-oriented with proven experience in moving projects from concept into successful execution. Through careful observation and determination, you can identify process gaps and use your strategic mindset to drive process improvements, always aiming to set your team for long-term success. You've proven you start with the customer and work backwards, understanding that what you do is critical to creating a successful, consistent shopping experience. You ensure the creative and craft bar is always high in every detail of the project, for both you and your team, and look around corners to take every opportunity to raise the bar even higher. As a candidate, you will have a deep understanding of graphic design processes and software. An online portfolio and previous design experience are required.
Key Job Responsibilities Design creative executions including but not limited to Amazon-owned devices brand and ad placements, maintaining high productivity, quality standards and meeting turnaround time targets.
Ensure design requirements are met in adherence with product specs, policies and creative guidelines.
Optimize digital assets for web, mobile, big screen and other devices.
Follow and apply graphic templates and style guides.
Propose best-in-class customer experience by integrating style guides, creativity, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings.
Help ensure quality control, while working closely with marketing stakeholders, design peers and quality specialists.
Exhibit an ability to follow creative lead as expected, and also contribute to push the creative envelope in a constructive, memorable way with the customer in mind.
Act as an expert for one or more design categories, helping resolve customer queries, troubleshooting when needed, as well as training and mentoring new employees.
Incorporate analytical and strategic thinking.
Experience working with multiple partners and stakeholders and communicate efficiently to solve challenges and push projects and campaigns forward.
Sponsorship experience is preferable but not mandatory.
A Day in the Life Executing best-in-class brand experiences using the Amazon canvas.
Sync with internal and external partners to present and discuss your work.
Independently lead campaign executions and collaborate with the EU creative team ensuring all parties are aligned.
Work with Art and Creative Directors to understand new brand opportunities to apply your top design skills.
About the Team Brand Innovation Lab is an internal, international group within Amazon Ads that creates one-of-a-kind campaigns and activations for global advertisers like Universal Studios, Warner Bros, McDonald's, LEGO, Uber Eats, and more. Using all of the different platforms within Amazon (i.e. Alexa, Twitch, Prime Video), we create campaigns that reach millions of Amazon customers across our digital channels and out in the real world. The current position in Amazon UK works across a variety of clients within the Entertainment & Hospitality industries including film studios, video game releases, toy brands, quick service restaurants, travel brands, and delivery apps.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 6+ years of design experience (within an agency is preferable).
A remarkable portfolio that demonstrates excellence in craft as the level desired for the application (please ensure it is available online and include a link in your resume).
Bachelor's or a higher degree in Visual Communications/Advertising Design/Graphic Design.
Strong time management skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity, self-prioritize, multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
Mastery of the principles of design, colour theory, typography and graphics file creation optimized for digital media.
Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dynamic advertising or shopping solutions.
Ability to interact at all levels of the company and with external parties in a professional manner, maintaining effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Exceptional computer skills using Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.
Proficiency in English is a must, written and verbal.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience creating a design guide or design template.
Demonstrated experience in driving process improvements and scale that had measurable impact, with proven examples of design problem-solving, impacting team or program business goals.
Experience in Digital Marketing and branded content (editorial or sponsorships).
Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated experience of having high adaptability.
