To request a reasonable accommodation form, email Location Balad, Iraq USN JOB OVERVIEW : This is a field lead position located at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base (formerly known as Balad Air Base) Iraq. Under general supervision performs and/or coordinates vector control services, to include all pest control services, feral animal trapping, bird mitigation, etc., for the base areas included on the MFL (master facility list) and PWS. Supports the development and implementation of an effective IPM (integrated pest management) program. Related functions involve education of base personnel about sanitation, exclusion, harborage areas, and associated conducive conditions related to vector control pests. Ensures that pesticides utilized in vector control operations are transported, stored and used in compliance with IPMP (integrated pest management plan) requirements, and label/SDS requirements. Conducts, coordinates, and participates in feral animal trapping/capture mission according to established humane animal handling standards. QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS: Current (not expired) US state commercial certification, or DOD certification to apply pesticides with at least one year of eligibility remaining before renewal is due. All required CEUs and trainings must be current, and applicant must be eligible for renewal according to the terms of the particular certification. Valid US state driver's license and international driving permit (IDP) is required. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs pest and vector control field services as required. Responsible for the daily field training of local national staff. Responsible for performing IPM inspections and completing assigned paperwork. Ensures all pesticide usages meet requirements per IPM, and as laid out in the PWS and IPMP, and is applied according to label instructions. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. Implement/follow a safety plan and provide instructions for the proper use and wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE). Responsible for facility custodianship of vector and pest control work area and management of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Assists in developing/updating the integrated pest management plan (IPMP) when requested
