JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Genomics and transcriptomics of synucleinopathies (GTS) group focuses on the molecular characterization of Lewy body diseases.
Over the past 10 years, we have specialized in dementia with Lewy bodies with the goal to provide peripheral diagnostic markers.
Now, we are looking for a young entrepreneur with a strong background in neuroscience for an ambitious project with an important social impact, especially for patients.
You will develop diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for Lewy body disorders and validate the diagnostic potential of a miRNA-based signature and the prognostic power of RNA transcripts for dementia with Lewy bodies.
This entirely translational research project aims to offer solutions for patients, clinicians, and the development of therapeutic strategies.
The successful accomplishment of the validation studies will be essential for the creation of a spin-off company.QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE- PhD degree or equivalent in neuroscience.- Certified Advanced Training in Entrepreneurship, minimum 80 hours.- Knowledge in technology transfer in the biomedical sector, including regulatory, IP protection, business, and market.- Experience in REDCap database design, implementation, and management.- Experience in sample handling and processing, preferably related to platelets.- Strong experience in molecular biology (genotyping, miRNA isolation, qPCR, etc.
).- Experience in neuroscience research laboratory, including practical knowledge in seed amplification assays (SAAs) / RT-QuiC techniques.- Knowledge in databases and data analyses basics (Excel, Graphpad).- Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills (creative, critical, thinking out-of-the-box).- Able to work independently, take initiative, and actively participate in the team.- Be accurate and have a strong sense of responsibility, perseverance, and a strong ambition to learn.- Certified English level, minimum C1.- Good oral and written communication skills.- Training stays abroad and scientific publications will be valued and considered positively.WHAT WE OFFER- Full-time contract.- Indefinite contract (Contrato indefinido por actividades científico-técnicas, ley 14/2011).- Date of incorporation: 01/01/2025.- Gross annual remuneration will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.- Flexible payment (childminding vouchers).- 23 days holiday and 5 days for personal matters + 2 personal days for Easter + 2 personal days for Christmas.- Training capsules by the company.- Be part of an excellent multidisciplinary research centre with the HRS4R badge.- Location on the Can Ruti Campus, a first-class translational research environment in the Barcelona area, in a very stimulating scientific environment.
