The Statistical Programming Operations Director is accountable for overseeing operational activities across Oncology Statistical Programming. Primarily, the focus will be on Oncology Biometrics internal delivery of analysis and reporting activities. The role requires strong leadership,
communication, and stakeholder management skills, as well as a proven track record in management and oversight of operational activities facilitating successful delivery across Oncology Biometrics.
Typical Accountabilities: Accountable for managing a team of contract workers and vendor suppliers.
Arranges and structures this team in order to create an environment where the team can work productively and collaboratively together.
Recruits and builds the team with the appropriate skill set.
Effectively manages the performance of contract Programming team.
Ensures the team is fully utilized by deployment and redeployment to projects and studies as demand dictates.
Captures business needs and plans recruitment accordingly.
Manages the contracting team's training and timesheet compliance.
Provides input into the strategy for the programming function based on strong operational knowledge.
Provides resource utilization metrics.
Tracks operational financial figures.
Provides an operational dashboard including drug project updates, cost projection, and resource levels.
Provides input to capacity management for all projects in scope.
Aids a consistent approach across Biometrics.
Leads and contributes to improvement and organizational initiatives within and outside of the function.
Drives continuous improvement of the team and function.
Collaborates cross-functionally and represents Programming leadership.
Contributes to portfolio-level Biometrics capacity management.
Contributes to and maintains budgetary constraints through the long-range planning processes.
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Essential: Degree in Mathematical (i.e., Applied Math, Engineering, etc.), Statistical, Computer Science, Life Science, or equivalent.
Expert planning and organizational skills.
Proven programming leadership experience.
Thorough knowledge of the clinical development process.
Demonstrated leadership capability and proven ability to lead teams towards a common goal.
Strong ability to influence relevant stakeholders and global teams.
Ability to provide input to functional strategies.
Ability to manage risk in complicated or novel situations.

Desirable: Demonstrated experience designing and implementing business processes.
