A VAT analyst supports the VAT operations and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the VAT team.
The functional main responsibilities are:Prepare accurate VAT returns (monthly/quarterly basis).Prepare and deliver quality financial reports as required by internal or external requirements.Initiate further investigations and corrections when applicable.Perform the VAT closing activities and resolve subsequent queries.Calculate and post accruals, revaluations, etc.Keep up to date on legislation related to VAT and other informative returns in the country under responsibility (Continuous Professional Education).Participate in internal & external financial audits.
Support the local and tax organization particularly in case of tax audits.Participate in special projects either based on business requests for support or internal team projects for continuous improvement of processes and data quality.Perform detailed review, analysis, and interpretation of defined processes in the VAT area, ensuring accuracy of data and adequate processing and reporting.Work day-to-day to achieve daily processing objectives.Initiate and drive improvement opportunities in the scope of the team.Know and implement a series of operating procedures that demand attention to detail under pressure conditions.Cooperate with the VAT Team and Tax Organization in various VAT/TAX projects and initiatives.Knowledge & Experience:Minimum 3 years TAX/finance experience.Accounting/finance University degree.Business proficiency in English.SAP R3 knowledge is a must.Demonstrated IT skills (Microsoft Office tools, etc.
