Vacancy | Research Assistant Position (DEMOC project) - CLOSED We are seeking candidates at the post-graduate/pre-doctoral level with a background in political science, economics, or law, and with a willingness to conduct qualitative data collection and analysis.
The position requires fluency in Catalan and English.The work commitment is 20 hours/week for 6 months, with a possibility to extend.
The position can be done partially remote; however, some meetings will take place in person at IBEI, and the interviews will be held in person in Barcelona.The candidates will contribute to the project by identifying the legal framework of the studied agencies, analyzing them, and summarizing the democratic qualities following a coding scheme.
Additionally, candidates will research and identify relevant decision-makers in the studied bodies, contact them, and conduct semi-structured interviews.
Responsibilities also include transcribing and translating interviews and performing minor administrative tasks.The project includes a training and capacity-building component and is ideal for candidates seeking to develop skills and insights related to advanced research project design.
Upon successful performance, candidates will be invited to co-author papers for conferences and journal submissions to support their career development.
