What they're looking for:Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program required.One + years of experience as a FNP.Current Texas licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse required.Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently.Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.Hours and Compensation Potential:The position is full-time. Mon-Fri 8hr shifts. Range is $115K-$140K with RVU bonus depending on experience. A full benefits package is included, with a $1K CME allowance as well as a $5K sign-on bonus.
What you'll be doing:Under the general supervision of a Physician, the Nurse Practitioner provides chronic and minor acute care to patients at the Rural Health Clinic. This position aims to provide availability and accessibility of primary and emergency health care to residents of rural areas that have a shortage of these services and health professionals. Responsibilities include:
Practicing within the confines of established protocol per the requirements under Federal law for the Rural Health Clinic Act.Participating in the development, execution, and periodic review of the written policies governing the services the clinic furnishes.Providing patient care in accordance with established policies.Understanding, respecting, and adapting patient care according to age, physical, emotional, cultural, and/or religious beliefs and needs of the population served.Appropriately referring patients to specialty services that cannot be provided at the clinic.Maintaining electronic patient healthcare records in accordance with state and federal mandates.Promptly following up on the review and communication of critical test results.Responding in a timely manner to all patient calls or inquiries.Working in collaboration with clinic leadership to achieve meaningful use, quality, and DSRIP measures.Actively participating in survey readiness activities and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.Maintaining CAQH profile and completing required updates.What you can expect:The position is located an hour from Houston. We are looking for someone interested in being part of and growing a team. It is a Rural Health Clinic with a patient population that includes an indigent care program. You will work with a great group that is growing and has a family medicine residency program with Sam Houston that is in its first year.
The supervising physician of the Rural Health Clinic is also the SHSU Program Director. The facility is about 120 beds, accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital along with the Rural Health Clinic.
